Brief info

Nik's lifelong connection with bicycles began at the age of 6 when he fearlessly removed the training wheels from his own bike to keep pace with his cousins. This early experience sparked a lasting passion for bicycles that only deepened as he embraced the freedom of exploring the world on his BMX bike alongside friends and family.

Growing up in a working-class family, where financial constraints often limited the availability of new bikes or parts, Nik and his friends honed their resourcefulness. They scoured discarded bikes, transforming them into functional rides or upgrading them with the best components they could find, fostering a DIY ethos that would shape Nik's future endeavors.

Once he obtained a car, the frequency of bike rides diminished, but BMX remained a cherished hobby. After earning his college degree, Nik entered the workforce as an electrical and mechanical technician at a CD/DVD manufacturing factory. A decade into this career, his true calling emerged when his passion for music led him to establish his first business in PA sound systems. Over nearly two decades, Nik honed his expertise, installing systems and running sound for various bands. Nearly two decades later, with a wealth of experience under his belt, Nik decided to retire from the music scene.

Teaming up with his wife Beth, they ventured into farming in West Virginia, raising pigs, chickens, rabbits, and the occasional goat. Nik's commitment to community service expanded as he became a certified firefighter and engaged in various local organizations, including the Son's of the American Legion, Lion's Club, and Moose Lodge. Alongside Beth, he dedicated time to organizing local farmers markets, further weaving himself into the fabric of the community.

The turning point came when the Elk River Rail to Trail opened for cyclists in 2022 in Gassaway. This revitalized Nik's love for bicycles, inspiring him to open a bike shop to support the burgeoning trail community. Drawing from the joy bicycles brought him in childhood, Nik prioritizes introducing today's youth to the thrill of cycling, ensuring no opportunity is missed to put a bike in the hands of a child eager to ride.
