Bigfoot Braxxie’s Bikes, owned by Nik and Beth Salvo, opened its doors in 2023 to meet the growing demand for a bicycle shop along the Rails to Trails path in Braxton County. The shop provides a range of services, including the rental of E-bikes and mountain bikes, as well as repairs and sales of both new and used bicycles. As part of their commitment to environmental sustainability, the shop welcomes used bike donations, which are refurbished for sale or donated to those in need.

In 2024, the shop plans to introduce kayak rentals along the Elk River, along with day trips that combine kayaking and biking, known as “Paddle Down, Pedal Up.” The owners also envision the shop serving as a convenient stop for tourists, offering clean public bathrooms, snacks, and local area information. Future plans include expanding the business into an outdoor shop catering to enthusiasts, hikers, and hunters.
